When doing the this week’s Borgninian Moment, I momentarily lapsed on 2 facts that I would like to correct now.

1.UPDATE #1

The man who sold his yacht for a $1 to the Navy to help combat any enemies making it to the Florida shores in WWII (the vessel on which  Mr. Borgnine was stationed, the night in question) was in fact William L. Murphy, the inventor of the “Murphy Bed”.

Most famous in North America, the “Murphy Bed” (also called a wall bed, pull down bed or fold-down bed), is a bed that is hinged at one end to store vertically against the wall, or inside a closet or cabinet.

2. UPDATE #2

Also, according to Mr. Borgnine in this January 26th, 2011 interview, the yacht actually went over by 52 degrees during a hurricane off the Florida coast. So though I was completely off with my facts, it does add to the severity of Mr. Borgnine’s feelings at the time.

Wow is right!
