A Spanish village painted blue for the filming of ‘Smurfs The Movie’ has decided to keep the color!

The residents of Juzcar, in Andalucia were promised to have their homes turned back to White by Sony Pictures, but the residents voted to keep their village Blue. Due to the movie they have received 80,000 visitors this year instead of the usual 300 that would normally pass through.

Mayor Fernandez said: “It has given a boost to the local economy, it has increased our happiness, our dreams and our levels of employment. Thanks to being painted blue we are known throughout the world.”

If only it was pink, then this Yorkshire Girl would be the first one to move there!
