I was recently encouraged to watch a long forgotten Muppet special from way back in 1986! Even I, a long time Muppet aficionado, somehow missed this one… So I gave it whirl… Oh Boy! What I discovered was so shocking, I was forced to make the children leave the room or else their psyche would […]

Another great Muppet Christmas Special to be highlighted in this series, is one of the earliest, the Emmy Award-winning Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. It originally aired on PBS on Sunday, December 3, 1978, and sadly is another one of the great Muppet specials that hasn’t been aired probably in 20 years.

I like the Muppets! I think they lost their edge after the 1979 release of The Muppet Movie, but that happens when you go main stream… Before that, Jim Henson was making big plans for his company. The Muppets were on Sesame Street. They had their own TV show, The Muppet Show. They had made numerous […]

I have come to the conclusion that there are two time-frames when concerning the Muppets. Pre-Jim Henson’s Death and Post-Jim Henson’s Death. Sadly, the latter has not been as rewarding and fruitful in the world of the Muppets since Mr. Henson’s passing. Who or what is to blame? That is a debate for another day. […]

Two long-lost Doctor Who episodes rediscovered!
Posted: 11th December 2011 by Brian in Doctor Who, TelevisionBetween its debut in 1963 and its initial cancellation in 1989, 695 individual episodes of Doctor Who were produced, and one of the great scandals of television history is that of those 695 episodes over a hundred of them (all from the show’s 1960s black-and-white era) were summarily erased by the BBC in the mid-1970s […]

The Podwits are back and this time it’s personal! While Dion, J. and Brian are more than happy to debate the virtues of the written word versus its interpretation in Hollywood, they also prove they’re not above shilling for everything from Amazon.com to Ahnold himself. We may even shill for you too…
Arresting News, Everyone!

This is the story of a TV show that lost everything, and the one company who had no choice but to keep them all together. OK, it’s a stretch, but I’m bloody GIDDY! The Associated Press is reporting that Netflix (confirmed on the Netflix Twitter account), the company that’s finding ways to keep me paying, has partnered with […]
